It has been an honor enjoying Spring 2015 with you! Let’s take a look back on our joyous semester!
January
- January was a sad month because our first meeting was canceled due to the snow.
- Our first meeting of the semester challenged English Educators to “Write the Rainbow” and incorporate writing lessons to specific color-themed texts.
- Our second meeting was also cancelled due to snow.
- We finished up February with a meeting about gender in the classroom
- Amber guest led a meeting about using lyrics as literature.
- We wrote Cards for Hospitalized Kids!
- Sarah F. taught us about how to teach the half day of school and then we all went to Trident to enjoy some good food and laughs while surrounded by books!
- On March 30, we helped SED Student Government with their SEDtalk about Gender and Sexuality in Schools
- We concluded March by having professor Anna Panszczyk from the writing department talk with us about teaching wordless picture books and metafiction.
- Chrissy taught us all how to teach humor in the classroom.
- We dressed up as authors and had a super intense Murder Mystery Meeting (spoiler alert- don’t get on Emily Dickinson’s bad side).
- Professors Christina Dobbs and Scott Seider joined us in celebrating our graduating seniors at English Education Senior Night, where we enjoyed cake and life lessons from our seniors.
- Professor Pasi Sahlberg from the Harvard Graduate School of Education joined us in a discussion about global education for our final meeting
Thank you all for a lovely semester and we can’t wait to see you all for more adventures in the fall!
With English Ed love,
The Executive Board
